Examine Yourselves

 Lately, there seems to be a surgence of 'seers' and 'diviners.'

If you think this strange ability to 'see' or 'visualize' a happening has a purpose, how do you or I try to find out what the purpose is of a 'dream' or 'vision.'

I have found there to be a 'test' that can help determine a reason you may have a 'vision' of some kind.

Let's say you have a 'dream or vision' of your child getting hurt in some way. This can be an opportunity for you and I to pray for our childs' safety. Maybe you haven't thought to do that in a while so having a little 'dream or vision' can give you that little nudge that says... Hey, my child could use some prayer. That's a holy thing.

Now, let's say you start seeing strange things... I hope you don't but I'll give you an example that I heard of recently. A person thought they could see someone shopping and buying all kinds of things that the 'seer' then desired to have as well. 

That is probably not a very holy thing.

Why?

Any dream or vision that stirs up 'lusts of the flesh' or materialism doesn't have a good source. If you start fixating on a new car, or someone else's gazebo or someone's newly re- done bathroom, that probably has the root of jealousy much more so than any holy thoughts.

Here's another test... if you can't get that 'new truck,' new clothes... whatever you think about every day, too much, the 'vision' is probably not from a healthy source. 

Does the thought take away your contentment?

'Be content with such as what you have.' 

So, if people steal what you have, they are not doing anything good. Stealing is the end result of fulfilling lusts combining arrogance with laziness.

If you are unsure about your 'vision or dream,' run it through this test. 

Did it make me a better person when I had a dream or vision of danger, for my child, and then prayed for my child? The answer is probably yes. After I prayed or called my child, I felt much better. You did something good with your 'perception' of your unfamiliar experience.

Now, if you had a odd thought that led you to steal someones' vehicle, gazebo, bicycle, clothes, perfume, food, almost anything... that is not a 'good source' dream or vision. 

That has to be examined and you must ask yourself if you have committed a crime due to some lust or desire for something that isn't yours to take.

These little tests will keep you on the 'straight and narrow' and keep you grounded so you don't have odd and strange ideas that you then act out by stealing and causing a lot of trouble for family, friends and personal reputation. 

Nobody wants to be in the company of reprobates.
