For a Word

What have I been learning? Many hard things. I assure you! Trust has been demolished. Currently, I can trust only in the Lord in day to day providing. Any future provision is invisible and unsettled. What I can write today is a bit of wisdom I read and re- read this month. I came across it in a modern book, well, republished book... the original was written during WWII. If you are a person who has read much, it may take a bit of brilliance to catch your attention. So, these words are the brilliance that caught my attention... I may paraphrase a bit to try to find the best structure for encouragement today...

"Your trust towards me or my trust towards you becomes higher through courtesy, kindness, honesty and keeping my commitments to you and vis a vis. This builds up a reserve of trust. In times when communication may not be clear you won't make me 'an offender for a word.'

Wow! When I read those words I was so encouraged. In a world where people point fingers of accusation, the news being a horrible depiction of making anyone a 'offender for a word,' I wondered at the wisdom of this statement. Can a relationship become so trusting that there is latitude for such gracious living? In a world where, it seems, accusers are many and beloved are few can we develop strong relationships built on this kind of trust?

Most of my writing has been going in my private journal as a thought needs to be annotated before a complete belief is embraced and shared for the beneficence of any who read it. So, here I was thinking the writer was so brilliant and he was... brilliance does not die... wisdom does not die... it is available to every person who chooses to read and embrace and try to comprehend its validity to the walk of life.

So, here is the best part of the writing that so enthralled me... the wisdom of the writer was taken from Isaiah 29: 20 and 21. I was so amazed when I came across it a day or so ago. Now, I will let you read that, on your own, as it is a very severe warning and it is best if we read wisdom and apply it individually. My personal joy came of knowing that wisdom is so often, and when best it is used, a boon to foundational Biblically- based living.

My encouragement is this... be the kind of person of whom it can be said... 'that person would not make you an offender for a word.' Great testimony!

What A Journey

It is a difficult journey to lose someone to death. This is the journey I am currently walking. It is difficult. At some time, we shall all walk this journey. It is, of course, most difficult for the ones still living. I cling to faith and memories and try not to think of 'what ifs.' This is not a good path of thinking during a time of sorrow. Concentrating on happy memories is a better way to try to get through each day. For all those who are  grieving, I have heard it said that grief is just love that has nowhere to go. So, love as best you can during these times and know that...

                                                             love is eternal.

Be Resolute

With solemn determination, this morning, he said to me, "I am resolute." The word resolute is for a time such as this. Some people have jobs. Some do not. The world is in a pause, a hush, a hesitation. What is the most necessary ingredient to successfully navigate each day? I believe it is to be resolute... in whatever you put your hand to in each day. How is this enacted for myself?
Well, I am adventurous in trying new things in my homemade soups. Eating healthy is paramount to maintain a positive outlook... eat well, feel well, do well.
I've been planting a lot of seeds. Every day I check the soil to see if a new seed has popped out of the ground. Growing plants is a wonderful way to learn patience, practice diligence, sprout hope, When you first plant seeds in the soil you spend many days watering with faith. You've planted before, you know the seeds come out of the soil and produce a plant if you carefully tend them. Many times I am about to give up on a seed and then, like this morning, the tiniest of green surfaces and I get excited about the promise of this beginning of growth. Setting goals is still important in every day and purpose grows in the small deeds of dedication.
Maybe you've heard the saying, "Most of life is getting ready." Find a goal, a purpose, and set yourself to the task of getting it done. Your day will feel more fruitful. It can be as simple as making a new soup for your loved one or offering a gift of learning, and,                                ENCOURAGEMENT.
This lovely hydrangea you see in the basket is real. I purchased it just before Easter, put it on the table to enjoy the beauty and found it wilted and drooping a couple of days later. I swiftly investigated and found it needed water. A good drink of that life force and it came back to full robustness. This greatly encouraged me and all the little seedlings that I've planted and are growing a little each day also gives me purpose each day.
Let the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self- control, take root and bear up in a passion for living.
Be Resolute!

2020

Well, it's a new year. Much has changed. Much is unknown. For me, the most important things remain the same. Live for the Lord and, if at all possible, don't leave people wondering whom you love and serve.
